Other IT equipment will generally continue to remain on continuously, e.g. servers, network switches, wireless access points, printers, monitors etc to ensure full services is maintained. In particular:
- modern printers will typically drop into very energy efficient modes when not in use and hence barely use any power
- modern TFT screens will also use almost no power when in standby mode and as such do not need to be physically turned off (in fact not having the screen in standby could affect the machines operation when it boots up if it cannot detect the screens capability (e.g. it could come up with the wrong resolution).
