Did you know that there are two terraces in the Andrew Wiles Building? These are outdoor spaces, with chairs and tables, where we can enjoy some fresh air, whether alone or together. So if you're working in the AWB, and would like a well ventilated space to meet colleagues, eat lunch or have a coffee, you are welcome to make use of them.
To reach the terrace in the north wing (left image), you need to head to the fourth floor, which is a well kept secret, but you can get there via the lift or via the internal staircase (the Escher/Harry Potteresque staircase won't get you there - not that Escher's staircase got anyone anywhere anyway).
To reach the terrace in the south wing (right image, the Gombocs were visiting), go to the third floor, and you'll find it on the east side of the building, towards the south end.
For those of you who like maps, you'll find the terraces marked on the floor plans. Brilliantly, the terraces are numbered too (N4.02 and S3.27).
