If you were wondering why nearly 600 girls aged between 13 and 17 were in the building for three days last week then welcome to It All Adds Up.

It All Adds Up is a series of three one-day events for female-identifying and non-binary students from UK state-funded schools (ages 13-17, including Beaconsfield High School below). Each day focuses on a different year group and invites students to attend a series of plenaries and workshops delivered by a mix of internal and external speakers. It All Adds Up has been held in Oxford since its inception in 2015. The event is free of charge for participants and is funded by the department.

On all 3 days, students attended a plenary in the morning, followed by a workshop and a hands-on problem-solving session and then a final plenary in the afternoon. Each of these sessions are around 45 minutes in length. For the hands-on sessions, students were allocated to smaller classrooms and set maths problems. These sessions were run by student ambassadors who had been selected prior to the event.

Thanks to everyone involved, especially to Zoe Hart who organised the days. If you want to get involved email Zoe (@email).
