The first in our series of Taunton Talks this term will be held on Saturday of Second Week (21st October), at 12:00 pm at Grandpont House.

The talk will be given by Professor David Clayton, Provost of Pontifex University, and entitled ‘The Mathematics of Harmony and Proportion: A Cosmic Pattern for a Culture of Beauty.’ It may be of interest to any undergraduate or postgraduate students studying the philosophy of mathematics, though all are welcome. The Taunton talks, convened by Dr Paul Shrimpton, are intended to appeal to students who wish to engage in serious thinking beyond the confines of the tutorial and are motivated by the pursuit of truth.
