If you were wondering why the building seemed busier at the beginning of the month, it is because we hosted nearly 600 girls aged 13-17 in the building for our event It All Adds Up.

It All Adds Up is a series of three one-day events for female-identifying and non-binary students from UK state-funded schools. Each day focuses on a different year group and invites students to attend a series of plenaries and workshops delivered by a mix of internal and external speakers. It All Adds Up has been held in Oxford since its inception in 2015. The event is free of charge for participants and is funded by the department.

On all 3 days, students attended a plenary in the morning, followed by a workshop and a hands-on problem-solving session, a Q&A and then a final plenary in the afternoon. Each of these sessions are around 45 minutes in length. For the hands-on sessions, students were allocated to smaller classrooms and set maths problems. These sessions were run by student ambassadors who had been selected prior to the event.

Thanks to everyone who took part. If you want to get involved, email Zoe (@email).
