Problem Solving Matters is looking to recruit mentors for an upcoming event. This summer course is for Year 12 students (aged 16-17) from state-funded schools interested in studying mathematics at university. Mentors are to help facilitate the course by supporting the Y12 students with their mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills prior to them taking the MAT or other admissions tests.
The course is delivered across three face-to-face study days at the Maths Institute in Oxford. We require mentors to be available in Oxford for all three days - Saturday 28 June, Saturday 12 July, and Saturday 13 September. Mentors will also be expected to monitor their emails through the summer period and respond to any queries from their group.
This is a paid opportunity and there is some additional funding to help with travel. You will need the right to work in the UK.
If you are interested in applying to be a mentor, please complete an application form, which can be found here. Deadline to apply is noon on Friday 16 May.
Please contact @email if you have any questions or if you would like more details about the programme.
