An Oxford Evening to Remember

Join us on Monday 15th September 2025 for an unforgettable evening of good food, great company, and classic Oxford charm at the Cherwell Boathouse – one of the city’s most atmospheric riverside venues.

5.30–6.30pm | Punting on the Cherwell
The evening begins with a quintessential Oxford tradition: a gentle punt along the River Cherwell. With 17 punts booked exclusively for our group, you’ll float past willows, wildlife, and the golden glow of early evening light. Either try your hand at punting or sit back and enjoy the ride, it’s the perfect way to unwind after a day of science.

6.45pm | Drinks Reception
We’ll reconvene on the riverbank for a relaxed reception with sparkling wine and elderflower cordial, as the sun sets over the water and guests gather in the marquee, reserved just for us.

7.30pm | Three-Course BBQ Buffet Dinner
Dinner will be a generous barbecue buffet with something for every palate, including:

Chuck Eye Steak or Fillet of Bream with salsa verde
Stuffed Pepper with Pulled Shitake Mushroom (for dietary requirements)
Greek salad, warm new potatoes, quinoa salad, fresh baked artisan bread, and leafy greens

To finish: a duo of desserts – Eton Mess and Chocolate Brownie with Chantilly Cream – served with a drink of your choice (house wine, beer, or soft drink).

11pm | Music to close
We’ll round off the evening with music and a pay bar until 11.30pm, before departing at midnight, well-fed and well-celebrated.
