Pousaz Family Scholarship

The Mathematical Institute, in partnership with Pousaz Philanthropies, is delighted to offer five fully-funded places to our MSc students. The Pousaz Scholarship Programme was established with the aim of enabling gifted students to pursue postgraduate study in mathematics without financial barriers. The scholarships will be available to graduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic merit and/or potential.

Five scholarships will be awarded each year for three years, beginning in the 2026/27 academic year.

Terms and conditions

The scholarship covers all tuition fees for the fee liability period of the selected course and provides a maintenance grant for living expenses at UKRI rates.

Course Eligibility

The courses eligible for this funding at the Mathematical Institute are:

  • MSc Mathematical and Theoretical Physics
  • MSc Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing
  • MSc Mathematical Sciences
  • MSc Mathematics and Foundations of Computer Science

How to apply

To be considered for one of these scholarships, please submit your completed application for an eligible MSc programme by the January application deadline. Applications are welcome from candidates of all backgrounds, especially those for whom family income has been, or would be, a barrier to postgraduate education. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate both academic excellence and a passion for their area of study.
