A DPhil position is available in the Infectious Disease Modelling research group in the Oxford Maths Institute (https://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/groups/mathematical-biology/infectious-disease-modelling).
The successful candidate will undertake a DPhil project involving mathematical modelling of vaccination strategies to counter infectious disease outbreaks. They will be supervised by Prof. Robin Thompson and Dr Will Hart in the Maths Institute. They will also interact with researchers at pharmaceutical company GSK which is co-funding this project.
This project is suitable for students who are interested in mathematical biology and would like to do research involving both mathematical modelling and computer programming. This project is expected to generate research findings with clear real-world implications.
