Carles has won the 2025 Reinhart Heinrich award for PhD thesis, awarded by the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology (ESMTB), for his thesis 'Interactions and dynamics in collective cell behaviour'. In his thesis Carlos combines sophisticated mathematics with experimentally validated modelling to increase our understanding of collective cell behaviour.
