Three Minute Thesis Competition

The Oxford SIAM-IMA Student Chapter and Fridays@4 are excited to announce sign-ups for the Three Minute Thesis Competition are open.

• Present your research in a three-minute talk with the aid of a single slide aimed at a non-specialist audience
• This competition is open to ALL research students in the Mathematical Institute, in both pure and applied mathematics
• A panel of academics from the Mathematical Institute will judge the presentations based on clarity, pacing, engagement, enthusiasm, and impact to determine a winner and runner-up
• There will also be two audience favourite prizes. Prizes are worth up to £100
• Past competitions for inspiration: 2025, 2024, 2023 (this year's will also be filmed)
• Week 5 on Friday 29th May at 4 pm in L1, as part of the Fridays@4 series
