We are pleased to announce that the awards for Contributions to the Department in 2025-26 are made to the following graduate students.

Mario Marcos Losada: For his contributions in organising the Junior Algebra and Representation Theory Seminar, running Prelims Corner and supporting outreach activities. He has also been a dedicated mentor to first-year undergrads and newer DPhil students with an exemplary approach to delivering quality teaching.

Harry Stuart: For his contributions to departmental life through organising and delivering the Mathematical Institute Quiz, creating a highly original and engaging evening that brought together graduate students, ECRs, faculty, and professional services staff. He dedicated considerable time and creativity to making this exceptionally well-attended event a memorable and successful part of the department’s social life.

Vlad Tuchilus: For his contributions to departmental community life through taking the initiative to revive Tea@11, the Mathematical Institute’s morning coffee break. He secured funding, coordinated student volunteers, and managed the practical arrangements, successfully restoring a valued opportunity for members across the department to meet and connect.

Georgina Ryan: For her contributions running Mathematrix, securing its future through a challenging period while delivering a vibrant programme of academic, social, and diversity-focused activities. She has also made a substantial contribution to equality, diversity, and inclusion across the department, notably through co-leading the Oxford Women and Non-Binary People in Mathematics Day which was attended by 145 people from 24 different institutions.
