International Mathstory Competition 2026
The International Mathstory Competition is an annual competition that encourages undergraduate students and students in the final two years of pre-university education (including A-levels and equivalent qualifications) to communicate the beauty, meaning and real-world relevance of mathematics through 3-4 minute digital stories.
Mathstory complements more traditional mathematics competitions by celebrating creativity, communication and the ability to explain mathematical ideas in engaging and meaningful ways. Participants are encouraged to explore how mathematics influences society, underpins scientific and technological advances, or shapes our understanding of the world. The competition welcomes students from all disciplines and mathematical backgrounds, whether they have a passion for mathematics or simply appreciate its importance.
