Jane Street Graduate Scholarships

The Mathematical Institute, Department of Computer Science, the Department of Statistics and the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford are consistently ranked amongst the very best academic departments in the world, for both teaching and research. We are committed to attracting the world’s most talented students and working with them to help them maximise their potential, regardless of race, gender, religion or background.

Academic Futures is a series of scholarship programmes that is helping to address under-representation and help improve equality, diversity and inclusion in our graduate student body. We are delighted that one talented UK Black or Mixed-Black student accepted onto a DPhil programme in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Physics will be eligible for a fully-funded postgraduate scholarship in 2025-2026.

In the event that an eligible DPhil scholar cannot be identified, we will offer up to two fully-funded Master’s scholarships in any of the following courses:

  • MSc in Mathematical Sciences
  • MSc in Statistical Sciences
  • MSc in Advanced Computer Science
  • MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing
  • MSc in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science
  • MSc in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics
  • MSc in Mathematical and Computational Finance

Terms and conditions

The scholarship covers all tuition fees and provides a grant for living expenses at UKRI rates. Awards are made for the duration of the period of fee liability for the course to Black or Mixed-Black students who are ordinarily resident in the UK.

How to apply

To be considered for the scholarship, all you have to do is submit your completed application (including ethnicity information) by the appropriate deadline. All successful applicants who declare themselves to be of UK Black or UK Mixed-Black ethnicity will be automatically considered for funding.
