The Oxford and Warwick SIAM Student Chapters are excited to announce the second annual Applied Mathematics Postgraduate (AMP) Conference, to be held on 30th June - 2nd July 2025 in the Mathematical Institute.

The event will consist of:

Book your place on our tour starting in the Radcliffe Science Library and going on to the Old Bodleian and Radcliffe Camera. Learn a little about the history of the library and visit locations such as the famous Duke Humfrey's Library. A great opportunity to explore Oxford and meet fellow postdocss.

Editor's note: If you are at a loose end, I'd recommend it as the Duke Humfrey's (pictured) is one of the great places in Oxford.

24 March, 11.00-12.00

Networking lunch for new postdocs

Sign up for a networking event and pizza lunch with the Radcliffe Science Library. Meet fellow postdocs from MPLS and MSD departments and listen to a brief update on services to support you and your research.

Not sure about this one as we get a lot like it, but if you fancy ten days in China or Dubai with a bit of time for tourism and don't want to pay for it keep reading.

The Oxford Maths Engagement GrAnts scheme (OMEGA) is a one-off scheme running this academic year which aims to support creative Public Engagement with Research activities from early career researchers (of any career stage) within the Mathematical Institute. Briefly, OMEGA provides a £3k fund which aims to support the development of PER resources, events, or other activities within the MI or led by MI researchers..

Talking to the public about your research can be extremely rewarding, but it's not always clear how to get involved as an early career researcher.

Join Joshua Bull and James Munro to explore imaginative ideas for public engagement and learn about how you could turn your own ideas into reality this year with a share of up to £3k in seed funding.

All attendees are invited to discuss potential project ideas over free pizza and drinks after the session.
