Research interests
I study various problems in mechanics and control, that include animal locomotion, the geometry of joints, and the statistical mechanics of muscle. The main motivation for his work is curiosity about everyday observations, with applications in biomedical sciences, evolutionary biology, and robotics. I am an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Yale University. I am currently visiting the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford and also a Visiting Fellow of St Catherine’s College.
