Gauge-string duality, or the AdS/CFT correspondence, is a conjectured duality between strongly coupled quantum systems and classical gravity in higher-dimensional spacetimes. This is a wide-ranging and actively studied area of theoretical physics, and the group's work covers a number of different aspects and applications.

More specifically a recent interest has been the computation of observables, such as correlation functions or partition functions, on both sides of the correspondence. In particular these observables have a geometric interpretation on the gravity side. We have also been interested in exact computations in AdS/CFT, tying in with the research here.
