Recording Attendance at Intercollegiate Classes
Go to the Courses site and make sure you are logged in - click "Log in with SSO" in the top-right corner if not.
Navigate to the relevant course - either using the "Courses" list on the homepage, the "Search courses" search box, or the "My courses" page in the top menu. If you use the search box, make sure you select the course for the current academic year.
Under "Intercollegiate Classes", click "Class Attendance".
If you are teaching/assisting more than one class, click the dropdown next to "Sessions" and select the appropriate class.
Find the appropriate date/time in the list, and click the "Take attendance" link ( symbol).
For each student, select either "P" for Present or "A" for Absent. (As a shortcut, the first row in the table allows you to set the status for all students at once - then you can adjust individual student statuses as needed.)
Optionally, enter remarks for students where required - e.g. reason for absence (if known) or performance during class. Be aware that this will be visible to the student, and will also be shared with their college tutor, department supervisor, course director and/or academic admin staff as applicable.
Finally, click "Save and show next page" to finish recording attendance.
(If needed, you can click the "Change attendance" link to go back and make further changes.)
