I am part of the IT Team at the Mathematical Institute.
My job title is a fancy way of saying "web developer" – i.e. I make websites and web-based software.
I currently look after:
- The Mathematical Institute website (Drupal)
- The CMI website (WordPress - developed by One Ltd)
- The courses system (Moodle)
- The workflow system (Drupal + Maestro)
- The door entry management system (Laravel)
- The electronic notice boards (JavaScript)
- The IT asset database (web2py)
- The IT team wiki (MediaWiki)
- Some other IT tools (phpMyAdmin, phpLDAPadmin)
- The VMs hosting all of the above (Ganeti, Puppet)
I typically work 8:45am-4:45pm in AWB. I'm available for meetings/discussions most days, except Wednesday afternoons.
Before I joined in Feb 2023, I was a Senior Developer at Alberon for 15 years, where I specialised in Laravel and WordPress development, system administration (Ubuntu, cPanel) and DevOps (Ansible, Terraform, AWS). Projects included turn IT on, the International Association of Hydrogeologists, Oxford's Department of Physics and Department of Computer Science, and many more.
I created Laravel Breadcrumbs and maintained it until April 2020. More recently, I built an open source task runner: Bin CLI.
