Compulsory training

Compulsory Training

As part of the University's induction process, it provides essential e-learning training to equip new team members with the tools and knowledge necessary for success in their roles.

The university specifies a number of courses as mandatory for all university staff. There are then additional course the university specifies as mandatory for staff and students with certain responsibilities or roles. The MPLS division augments that list to add additional mandatory and recommended courses as shown below. All these courses are provided via the  CoSy training platform except the Information Security course which is provided via the Meta Compliance training platform. Lastly the Graduate Admissions and Funding (GAF) handbook specifies a further mandatory course that is provided through the Canvas platform.

The Information Security and Data Protection training and the Health and Safety Basics training must be completed within your first few days of starting. Prolonged failure to complete the InfoSec course will result in loss of access to university email. Prolonged failure to complete the Safety Basics course will result in loss of office and building card access.

The other courses below should be completed within your first month at the University and repeated in accordance with University policy.

Note: you generally need to use the 'book course now' link part way down the CoSy course page, and not the 'find available dates' link at the top/bottom of the page (which may result in an error for online only courses).
