Registering for Intercollegiate Classes in Moodle

To register for a Mathematical Institute intercollegiate class, go to https://courses.maths.ox.ac.uk/. Make sure you are logged in - click "Log in with SSO" in the top-right corner if not.

Navigate to the relevant course - either using the "Courses" list on the homepage, the "Search courses" search box, or the "My courses" page in the top menu. If you use the search box, make sure you select the course for the current academic year.

Under "Intercollegiate Classes", click "Class Signup". (If you get see the error "You are not currently enrolled in this course", go back and enrol in the course first.)

Check the "Registration start" and "Registration end" dates - you will not be able to register for a class or change your registration outside of these dates. Before the start date, please be aware that the class details may not yet be finalised. After the end date, please contact @email if you need to request any changes.

Click the "Register" button next to the class of your choice, then the "Continue" button to confirm it. The class will then be highlighted in green and show "Registered" next to it.

Waiting Lists

If all classes are full, or the class you want to register for is full, you may click "Waiting List" (then "Continue" to confirm it) to join a waiting list. If a space becomes available, and you are at the top of the waiting list, you will be registered and will receive an email notification.

Please be aware that you may only be in a single class or waiting list at a time, and you will not be automatically transferred from a waiting list to a different class if no spaces have become available by the time registration closes.

Waiting lists are typically limited to 5 people (although this may be varied occasionally).

Changing Classes

To switch to a different class, click "Change registration" next to the class you want to move to, then click "Continue".

If you click "Change registration (Waiting List)", you will instead be moved onto the waiting list for that class. Since you can only be in a single class or waiting list at a time, you will be immediately deregistered from the original class, and your space may be given to someone else.

Deregistering

To deregister from a class, click "Deregister", then click "Continue" to confirm.

If you self-enrolled in the course, you may also click "Unenrol me from this course" to unenrol completely. If you were enrolled by your course administrator, you will need to contact them instead.

A Note About Class Sizes

The number of registered participants includes the class tutor and/or TA - so it will typically show 14 rather than 12.
