Oxford Maths Admissions Test Livestream
Are you thinking of applying to study Mathematics at university? In 2026 we're running a weekly livestream with maths problems and problem-solving strategies, with a focus on the Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA) and mathematics interviews. The sessions are free and available for everyone, and are recorded so that you can watch them later even if you can't join us live. No registration needed.
What's in a name?
The livestream is called the "mathematics admissions test" livestream because we're covering mathematics, and admissions, and tests, in that order!

Maths first, because if you're thinking about studying maths at university then you'll want to do lots of tricky maths problems first.
The worksheets for the livestream include lots of mathematics revision questions and practice problems, and also ideas for extensions to investigate, to keep you thinking after you've completed the questions.

We're also going to think about the overall admissions process for Mathematics at Oxford (good news, this involves lots of maths!). For Mathematics at Oxford, this admissions process includes a test (TMUA) and, if shortlisted, mathematics interviews. We've included advice about both throughout the livestream worksheets.

We're going to use admissions test questions throughout the livestream, with a particular focus on the TMUA, because that's the test that Oxford is using for Mathematics.
But our scope is much wider than just the TMUA; we want these sessions to be useful to you with your revision for A-level or equivalent, with any mathematics interviews that you have, and maybe even with the degree course itself!
Separately, the name also reflects the test that Oxford used for admissions before the TMUA, and the name of the livestream that we ran from 2020 to 2025. A recent survey of first-year Oxford Maths students found that more than half of them had engaged with that livestream while applying.
Schedule
Live sessions on Thursdays 17:00–19:00 (UK time).
In June and July, sessions cover topics usually found in the first half of A-level Mathematics or equivalent. These should be useful for anyone revising A-level Mathematics over the summer before they make an application to university, but will be particularly useful to people preparing for the TMUA because we're following the content specification of that test.
In August, we take a break from livestreams to let you do your own revision, possibly including past papers or A-level revision.
In September and October, sessions will cover skills that mathematicians need, with specific guidance for TMUA, but also including interview questions and some introductory material from the Oxford Mathematics degree.

2025 archive
If you want even more maths content in a similar format, you can find an archive of the 2025 MAT Livestream below. Note that the 2025 livestream focused on a different test called the MAT, which had a very slightly different format and syllabus to the TMUA.
