Graduate Studies Committee

The Graduate Studies Committee reports to Department Committee. It is responsible for graduate admissions through the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee, and the MSc through the MSc Supervisory Committees. It consults Research Committee or Teaching Committee as needed.
It is responsible for:
All QA and examination matters for MSc courses;
Policy for research student matters;
Oversight of graduate admissions in general;
Receipt of the minutes of the Consultative Committee for Graduates, and necessary follow-up;
Oversight of all graduate training, of the Taught Course Centre, and of Centres for Doctoral Training led by the department and in which it is involved as partner.

The Committee consists of:
Director of Graduate Studies (Taught) (Chair), ex officio
Director of Graduate Studies (Research), ex officio
Associate Head of Department (Education), ex officio
Taught Course Centre Director, ex officio
Representative for the CDT in Mathematics of Random Systems
Student representatives
MSc Course Directors, ex officio
Two members of department, for a three year term with the option of renewal.
Head of Academic Administration
Graduate Studies Officer and the CDT Administrator, in attendance

It will meet once per term, in week 5.
Secretariat will be provided by the Graduate Studies Officer.

Membership is for three years with the option of renewal
